As crisis situations and the fragility of states become more protracted and humanitarian crises proliferate, food crises tend to become more complex, time-consuming and difficult to reverse. At global level, the trend in recent years has been one of worsening levels of hunger and food insecurity and of away from the fulfilment of Sustainable Development Goal Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2 of the 2030 Agenda.
