Whats your Action Idea?

People should be more mindfull of what they are buying and buy only eggs with the 0 and 1 code. They should show them - post tik toks/ pictures etc , Restaurants could show that they are cooking with eggs that come from chickens that have been exposed to natural sunlight.

What do you need to realize your idea?

An online social media account and some posters tamplates easy to be downloaded and put in the brick and mortar outlets. Also, the lobbying for this idea is important - otherwise people might not get involved.

How does your idea help our fight for fair and sustainable food system?

1) It will give better living conditions to chickens. So far, chickens that give eggs marked 2 and 3 NEVER see sunlight. On the opposite end, the ones with eggs marked 0 and 1 stay in better conditions and play outside. We love eggs, but we want that the providers ( chickens) have decent conditions, are medicated properly and are taken care of. ( clips with chickens that are crammed, that live in their own manure, that have broken legs etc. are flowding the internet - we can't stay neutral). 2) the people eating the eggs: happy chickens give better eggs 3) the producers : in the long term, hopefully the demand for eggs marked 0 and 1 will increase and eggs 2 and 3 will dissapear - and the producers will upgrade. People will be more involved in raising chickens .

Why is your idea a winner?

It is easy and relativelley cheap: the price difference between 2/3 and 0/1 eggs it's arround 10 cents. It has a funny name.
